Abington Meeting

Free event.  No tickets needed.  All are welcome!
On Thursday evening, October 12th, author Marcus Rediker will return to Abington Friends Meeting to speak about his new book The Fearless Benjamin Lay. As Friends may know, Benjamin Lay was a member of Abington Meeting (later disowned) and an outspoken abolitionist and revolutionary. He and his wife are buried in our Abington Meeting graveyard, and many Friends express a strong connection to Benjamin Lay within our Meeting community. Benjamin Lay plays an important part in our Abington Meeting history. Please join us for this informative event, and learn more about this Quaker dwarf who “fiercely attacked slavery and imagined a new, more humane way of life.”
